Let’s Talk About Something Most of Us Don’t Love Doing…Measuring.
Pulling out a tape measure can feel like a whole thing.
It can bring up body stuff. Old stuff. “I-don’t-want-to-deal-with-this-right-now” stuff. We totally get it. Measuring isn’t anyone’s idea of fun. But, here’s the truth. It’s worth it.
For years, I thought that I was a 36 band. That number was in my head, and I clung to it because it felt familiar—safe. But, when I finally measured? I was a 38. And, I didn’t want to accept it at first. Not because of the number itself, but because it meant letting go of some old version of me that I was still holding onto.
Here’s the thing—I think we actually wasted a whole year trying to “fix” our nightie prototype, tweaking the design over and over because it just wasn’t lifting me the way I expected. And all along, the real problem was that I was wearing the wrong size.
I lost us a year by denying my true size.
When I finally put on my true Up All Nightie size? Wow. It looked amazing. It fit better. It lifted better. And most importantly? I felt better.
That’s when I realized—measuring isn’t about numbers. It’s about awareness.
And awareness leads to better choices—whether it’s the right bra, or in this case, the right nightie.
So, let’s reframe measuring:
It’s not about judgment.
It’s about knowing your body as it is, right now—and choosing to honor it with something that fits you. Not your younger self. Not your “goal” size. Just you. Now.
Here’s how to make it simple:
✅ Use a soft measuring tape. (Don’t have one? Grab a string or cord, wrap it around, and then measure the string against a ruler. Easy.)
✅ Wear a non-padded bra.
✅ Measure just under your bust for your band size. At Up All Nightie, this is the most important measurement—because proper lift and support start with the under bust framework.
- Firmly wrap the flexible tape measure around your torso, directly under your breasts, against your ribcage.
- Don’t include your bra in the measurement.
- Exhale normally before taking the number.
Then, use our Sizing Wizard to find your ideal Up All Nightie fit.
That’s it. One measurement, and you’re on your way to feeling supported and lifted.
Because you deserve to wear something that fits the real you—beautifully.
